This project promotes collaboration and networking across a range of public health sectors. In the early stages of the project, the emphasis was on increasing awareness of the internet and the web. In addition, work focused on getting sector groups within public health to collaborate in their use of the internet. Following the successful earlier phases of the project, and in response to feedback from the sector, the emphasis in the current phase (2006) is on developing a common platform for online networking by public health workers. This is being done through discussion with stakeholders from other sectors developing such systems and through piloting the use of Community and Public Health Online Groups CAPH www.caph.org.nz.
